Maybe they just didn't want to bother with it and gave me a story. Or maybe it's something recent. It's even possible (though I don't know her) that she's angry at him for dying. I've seen that happen before. Unfortunately, I don't have any other source to check it. I do have to say though, that the guy didn't sound like he was making it up on the spot.
