It just so happens that today I was doing a crossword and the only word I could think of for part of a clue was "ay" (as in "yes"), which I didn't think existed. So I looked it up in the dictionary and lo and behold: "variant spelling of 'aye'". So glad I was the first to intro another human being to it :-)
