>Have you read about the man? What counts as experience in your book? His work as a civil rights lawyer? As a community organizer, getting his hands dirty to help people?

If you think about it, any personal injury lawyer can call himself a civil rights lawyer.

>From his Wikipedia page (and footnoted there), here's executive experience:

>Obama directed Illinois Project Vote! from April to October 1992, a voter registration drive with a staff of 10 and 700 volunteers that achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state, leading Crain's Chicago Business to name Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be

Seriously with no sarcasm....
This is what a "Community Organizers" do? hmm... now I know.

I've been a part of this kind of thing. Its hard work but all they can do is make phone calls or set up booths in front front of Wal-Mart or Target and ask people to get registered to vote. Organiser is mainly there just to be to make sure there are enough tables, pens, registration forms, volunteer and to provide enthusiasm and refreshments for the volunteers. The job is time consuming, but it's not anything to put on your resume, unless your running for public service position... but president of the most sophisticated nation in the world?... I don't know....

I guess if you're semi-famous you'll get more press and notice but it's not big enough deal to say it sharpened your executive decission making skills.

>Sure it's small scale, but it's more executive experience than some of the candidates had.

- Alexis de Tocqueville

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
– Mark Twain (1866)
