Did you check in Add/Remove programs if MyWebSearch is installed? If it's, try to uninstall it first.
After that I would try http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php and Spybot - Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html free tools.

>Well yes, but I didn't see any ref to how to get rid of this dialogue, and I've already trawled through loads (like most!) of refs and down blind alleys, which is why I thought I'd put it to you guys to see if anyone had come across this before. I guess I'll have to now trawl through these to see if any might have the soln, and not one I've already visited.
