Well, I'm late to this thread having not been real active on the UT recently (with lots of work bearing down on me). This is sad news. I liked Jim. I found I agreed with him on a number of things (does that make me an old curmudgeon? <g>). I had noticed in the past few days that I didn't see his name on any postings and I thought about his comments awhile back about "almost left this world at that time." I hoped it was just that he was busy, too. Checked his member record and noticed he had not posted since May. Not that long really, but he did post fairly regularly. So when I asked, Naomi N. directed me here and I wasn't terribly surprised with what I found, given my suspisions.

Why can't there be some sort of flag on a member record if the member is deceased. Look at . . . Ed Raugh . . . that's close, but that's not the spelling (or they have taken his record out) . . . he died years ago and his record's still out there with no notation. Drew Speedie's record does not say he died.

But I digress. I read all the entries in the thread I could see, but it limited me to 50. I will miss Jim and I hope someone found a place to send condolences. Perhaps someone could (or did) print this thread and send it to his kids.

Rest in peace, Jim.

>I'm afraid it's the worst sort of news. Jim passed away., I don't know the exact date, but the apartment building superintendent thinks it was cancer.
