The forecast 'discussions' that NHC puts out makes for interesting reading. A bit more material than the 'advisories'.

You've probably already seen 'em since you appear to have a keen interest, even if you're on the other side of the continent. The swell from Bertha is supposed to start showing tonight and fill in for the weekend. If you leave now you might catch some.
