For the first time in 20 years I am having a problem, on One PC Only, with the Pack command.

The problem PC is a 3 month old Dell.

The EXE crashes during a pack. Different table some times, same table other times.
The DBF is gone but a temp file named something like: 0000345R53B1.TMP is left in the folder that turns out to be the final DBF after the Pack.
I can rename the TMP file to DBF and it works just fine.

I am assuming that the rename is causing the problem. The TMP file has no deleted recs. One of the times is where we are emptying a DBF work table with delete and then pack. The TMP is empty which the DBF should be after the Pack.

The problem PC is also the server in a 2 station peer to peer network.

I can do all kinds of operations that run a Pack in our EXE on the 2nd PC and it has no problems.

Any guesses what could be the problem on the 1st PC?
