Yassin, and Larry,

Keep in mind as I am sure you are aware, any controls can still be used although without the benefit of MM wrapped addons. I am using some Dev Express controls in a web enviornment but have to return a dataset from my business object and bind it normally (programatically). It isn't a big deal unless you have security involved in those controls. If you do then you have to do a little work with that also.

I just thought I would throw this in as you are not precluded from using other controls, you just have to do a little more plumbing or do it a little differently.

>Hi Yassin,
>I'm no expert user but I can share my own experiences: I'm working with windows forms + mm + infragistics ultrawingrid (and other infragistic controls) and I ended up stripping out ultrawingrid in many cases to be able to move forward quicker (or removed mm when I needed the advanced features of ultrawingrid). I have a note on my pc reminding me 'don't fight the framework'.

>There is a time lag between new versions of mm and the related wrapped third party controls, which can be an issue if you need bug fixes or features in newer versions. Also there is a time lag between new versions of the third party controls (for example infragistics is currently at 2008.2, mm has on dl site wrapped 2008.1) and mm wrapped controls. When upgrading to a newer version of both mm and third party control, when something breaks it becomes more fun trying to determine which new version caused the break.

>I've also had issues with which events are firing when, for example HookPreNavigate seems to fire after user selects new row in ultrawingrid.

>Bonus if you are new to mm is that by not using third party controls you can use the samples and examples provided in the docs and by Kevin and others.
>
>I'd suggest you look at what advanced features you are specifically looking for, after upgrading to vs 2008 I'm finding the microsoft controls have improved to the point that they provide all of what I need and most of what I want.
