First, I'd try to follow Sergey's suggestion.

There is a more recent (still old :-D ) version of GPIMAGE2 that you can get from here:
It contains some few tweaks in several methods, maybe it can work better for you.


Does the error occur only with big images ?
Only using the JPEG encoder ? Did you try the others ?
