>>>Someone sent me this link to youtube. It is my brother, Rick Harvey, playing on Beale Street back in '87. Rick died about 15 years ago from complications of alcohol and other substances. What a waste. He was an excellent musician. See for yourself - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-4L95ltatM

>>He really was good. Not much of a condolence, I know, but he got to meet and play with some pretty talented folks, and his work on Bobby Bland's CDs will be around for a long time.

>Thanks to all who commented. Rick was an excellent musician, but like the rest of us, he was the author of his own destruction. He got me started playing guitar, but, even after all these years, I can't play like he did. I guess I do okay, with my acoustic, but Rick was a guitar monster. He jammed with the best, SRV, Jerry Lee Lewis, and who knows how many others. His funeral was preached by none other than, Sam the Sham. Rick played guitar on his hit - Wookie. There were wreaths from Three Dog Night, BB King, and others, and Rufus Thomas and Ruby Wilson (the queen of Beale Street) sang at his funeral. We have a police/sheriff's escort that drove down Beale Street enroute to the cemetery. Music was all he wanted to do, and he devoted himself to it.

>It is a bittersweet thing to see this, but hey, now I've got something I can watch and listen to. I've sent my mom a link, I'm sure it will make her cry and laugh at the same time.

>Thanks guys. If I find any more of these, I'll let you know.

He sounds great!
I love Eric Clapton and that sounds like him. Maybe if that isn't on YourTube and I hear the real records He may sounds better than Eric.
I'm really sorry that he is gone.
