So what exactly is a 'pint of bitter?'

>Bass pubs seem to be getting more scarce nowadays - and I don't notice it in liquor stores. Maybe they no longer exist as a brewery per se. My very 1st pint, bought by me, solo, in a pub, was draught Bass, in a pub in Conwy, Wales, when I was 14.

>>Personally, my current favorite is Bass Ale, which of course comes from your side of the pond. I never cared much for the mass market domestic brews, I prefer something with a more body and flavor (oops, flavour).

>>>Nah, we'd need to drink at least twice as many of that gnat's pee before our spelling was affected. :-)
