Yeah, they have probably blown it way out of proportions but still.
We live in turbulent times. People are tense.
Some 10-15 years ago, situation like this would have been probably taken much lighter.
It would not be the first time that political satire (caricature) caused some stir and then
was forgotten. Under given circumstances (ongoing campaign) and with todays media situation (why Pavlov experiment comes to mind ? <g>) it all takes completely different repercussions.

Huh, this campaign will be extremely exorsting to watch/folow up ...
