Hi Elyse.

>We have a VFP8 application that we install on clients machines using Installshield Express. Generally, the application is installed on a network drive and then each workstation is set up with the VFP runtime files and a desktop shortcut that points to the application on the network drive. This was all working fine until we got to machines running Vista. I've been told that you can't install to a mapped drive on Vista and so we are getting errors when trying to set up the workstations. We can no longer point it to the network drive and can only install on the C: drive. This means that the desktop shortcut is pointing to the C: drive instead of the actual application. Any idea how we can run the installation and have the desktop shortcut point to the application on the network, even if the installation has to be done on the C: drive?

Can you install using the UNC path instead of the mapped drive letter?

Doug
