I just ran into this product (
www.xpunlimited.com) today... I have a customer using it but I had never heard of it. I went and checked out their website and it seems like it could be a good solution... especially for tight budgets.
Their 10 license XP classic is € 145 ~ 229 USD
Their unlimited XP classic is € 235 ~ 371 USD
That's significantly cheaper than purchasing a full blown MS Server OS and adding the TS licenses. They even have the option to load balance between multiple servers.
There appears to be a few competitors in this space too:
www.thinstuff.com and another I don't recall.
These companies are taking advantage of the common codebase between desktop OS and server OS and "unlocking" the terminal server capability.
On a side note: From what I've read XP SP2 was supposed to include the ability for a remote session to co-exist with a desktop session (2 users 1 machine) but that it got ripped out last second.
How this affects EULA's and the such I have no idea.
I just thought this was a potentially cool product and figured I'd pass it along to my VFP friends :)
