Now I seem to remember that I've read something... in the manuals for the Library Construction Kit for 2.6 (it was the same for Dos and Win version). Lots of C and structures etc, but it actually gave out some way for the reader to get the hang on internal memory operations of Fox. First thing I remember, a Fox variable is a structure, where one of the members denotes its type.
