>I'm using a USB 2d barcode scanner (Metrologic Focus which registers as an HID device) and when scanning the the barcode the read is quite lengthy (100-200 characters). Due to the keyboard repeat rate limitations of windows (max of around 30) this process takes a few seconds and I'd like to speed it up. I've tried hacking the windows registry but it appears (at least on Vista) to max out at 31. Anyone know of a workaround???
Your best bet is probably to talk with Metrologic. It's unlikely your situation is unique.
Is the typematic rate/delay adjustable in the BIOS of your machine?
