I was referring to the widespread phenomenon that in those years pretty much anything capable of making a sound was churning out their own versions of Beatles songs. And in some cases, inevitably, there'd be one version better than the original - for one, Joe Cocker's versions of "with a little help of my friends" and "she came in through the bathroom window". Though, for the latter, he didn't feel obliged to keep it in context with the rest of the album :).
