Be sure you look at Hamachi vpn which is owned by Logmein now and is on their site. I use it and Logmein together with great results. Particularly good if you need to connect your Management Studio to their SQL Server (or even run your app in debug mode against their SQL data) Remote Desktop works very well with Hamachi VPN as well.
