Open a form, on the Forms control toolbar pick the OLE control and drop it onto the form. After a short moment you get a list of installed ActiveX controls. Search the list to see if your control is in there. It might have a slightly different name than the ProgId. If it's not in there, this COM object cannot be added to a form. If it's in there and with the form it's working, you know that this is one of these controls.
