I must have misunderstood then. I apologize. I thought it was about gun permits - none are required for standard weapons and other types of weapons are completely forbidden. Guns are supposed to be registered but it appears that the law specifically applies to those entering California so it may be grandfathered. Of course concealed is another matter - those permits are virtually impossible to get unless you are law enforcement, public service, or a celebrity (or so I'm told by law enforcement there).
