I do a COPY TO command to convert my table (.DBF file) to an ASCII .TXT file format. I think that drops the memo field.

After that I send the ASCII .TXT file to a server over a modem, but without the memo field.

What 's the best way to send the memo field along with the .TXT file? And ... if I send the memo field as a .FPT file, how do I merge it back in with the .TXT file on the other end?

I assume I have to APPEND FROM to change the ASCII .TXT file back to .DBF and then somehow get the .FPT files to come together.
