Perhaps some of the old-timers went there to enjoy one more bleeding-edge-get-there-first-and-make-big-bucks rush. ;-) FWIW there are some astonishing phones coming out of China with dual sim, TV, wifi and lots of other cool stuff just crying out for apps.
Well, if I suddenly disappear it won't be because I ran off to write cell phone apps <g> More likely I'm off someplace trying to find my cell phone. I still haven't figured out how to use the speaker phone on it or put somebody on hold without cutting them off. I pay extra so it won't do web, text message or have blue teeth.
Since I lose it so often, I'm in the process of inventing one that is much bigger and is tethered to the wall with a wire. I think the idea is going to catch on. I also am workng on having the handset separate from the dialing base ( again, tethered with a wire so you don't lose it ) We have a prototype in black bakelite. Really quite snazzy. It will come with a guarantee that it can only be used to make phone calls and will be easy to find when it rings.
