Not what they did, but what they did NOT do. I won't make a list, but there were very vocal promises (hours worked in session, denouncing Bush for not making this country energy independent and promising the Dems would do everything to move in that direction while stalling every attempt to do so during his presidency, sheesh, I better stop).
