I received the following error when attempting what you suggested trying.

OLE IDispatch exception code 4096 from Microsoft Outlook: The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists...

The server is available and able to be logged into manually. When you open Outlook it prompts you for a user name, domain, and password. Is the login routine you gave me suffiecient to login to Outlook 2000?
