I'd say first, that of course, kids shouldn't be playing games with knives or guns or other weapons. That's easy.

That said, if the kids were playing games with guns rather knives, I'd think there'd be many more deaths and serious injuries. So neither situation would be good, but if for some perverted reason, I had to choose to equip kids with one or the other, I'd pick the knives every time.
