>>I don't buy your explanation. You own this site and you make all the decisions as to what forums and categories are available, etc. So when you are saying "was not considered" I translate it as "I didn't consider." And I would like to know how it would hurt (and who actually did complain) if there was one more category, VFP Spanish? or three more categories, VFP Spanish, VFP Portuguese, VFP French? I believe you mentioned before that maintaining Spanish forum was creating extra maintenance for you. How? This, if I understand correctly, is a data-driven site. You are one of the top database developers in my book, and you are saying that adding a category or a forum would create extra maintenance? I know there was not much traffic on the Spanish forum but for whose who, on occasion, wanted to post, it was there. And it was helpful.

>The way of translating what I write is up to everyone. But, I know that everytime I answer those extremely sensitive topics here in the Chatter forum, I take time to re-read what I wrote in order to make sure it will be easy to understand from everyone. But, no matter what I write, in most cases, it always turns against me, or worst if I would avoid answering at all. The original topic has also been shifted based on what I read in the follow up message. The original topic was to find a way to find Spanish content. I answered in the best I could. But, now, it seems to have turned into a foreign languages debate and I will not get involved in that. There was many reasons to put it back in its original format. Having all content into VFP forum is what it was before and this is the way it is now again. Basically, members are free to post in any language they want. As long as the initial language of the thread is not shifted along the way, this wouldn't interfere with the rules. However,
>answering in English is always accepted all the way as we have adopted it as the universal and main language of the site. So, you have the opportunity to post as often as you want in your preferred languages by selecting the most appropriate category you could think of. I believe this is much better than creating three more categories where all content of those foreign languages would be dropped in without any categorization at all. And, by doing that, we would end up with 3 more categories and we already have too much. Yes, there was complaints about that. The highest the number of categories in a forum, the more it is difficult to find the one to post in. We need to find the proper level. The site has been way to complex during the last few years and we want really too far as customization. With the new migration, some related topics have been covered and adjusted. That's just one of them.

I think you mistook my critique of your decision to remove VFP Spanish forum as an assault on you (in your words “always turns against me”). This was not and is not my intent.

Now, reading your message where you mentioned “want really too far into customization”, I think I understand more. Do I understand now that UT does not allow a user to select which forums he/she wants to subscribe/view? I went to the Setup page and don’t see the Forums option any more. So, I understand that now one has to view all forums, no matter what. And to reduce number of forums you removed VFP Spanish and VFP French forums, correct?

If so, for the life of me I don’t understand why someone would complain that there is a Spanish forum, or French forum? If they don’t like to view messages in it, they don’t have to expand it. Just like those who don’t like .NET forums don’t have to read them.
