I don't know if I'd characterize Obama as being an ultra liberal, or even exactly what liberal means anymore. But as opposed to rewarding the party responsible for the last 8 years, yes. The decision to invade Iraq was a terrible one (one that I supported at the time), and the lack of fiscal discipline has been quite apparent.

I'm not going to reward that kind of performance.
