Just hand the problem back to the Network guys, as they are the ones that caused the problem. When someone comes to me complaining about a problem that has occurred as a result of their own actions, all I say is fix it Freddy, fix it.

>Our company is using SagePro ERP ver 7.3B and network manager came to me complaining about all the temp files being created on the server.
>
>After looking into it, we use to have log in user names of 'abcd' etc. Recently they have been changing to users first name dot last name so it is being changed to "jane.doe" etc.
>
>Well it seems that there is an issue with Sage witht he "dot" and it fails to honor the temp file location. The fix was suggested to change in the workstations environment variable settings to a folder on the local hard drive rather than using the user profile temp folder.
>
>By changing that, it seems to fix the issue with SagePro, but has made an issue with all of my applications. Presently, to determine pathing, application rights etc, I have been relying on storing this information in the user profile temp folder. This allows multiple people to be able to log onto the workstation and all dependent information is available for that user logging on. I complile the config into my applications, but do not try to do anything with setting the temp folder.

>With the change for SagePro, that is no longer the case and all users are sharing the same dependency files and creating an issue.

>First I have a question with SagePro. Does anyone know if they use the config file externally or is it compiled into the EXE. I was wondering if it would be possible for SagePro config to be addressing the temp file location.
>
>If above is not possible, then i would like to enter into the config file the user profile temp folder. How or what is the script that i would need to accomplish this?
>
>Thanks in advance.
