Update:
After searching the web trying and tying some examples that didnt work ( can i have my wasted 2 1/2 hours back). I found the answer in the MM chm Creating Web Forms Applications, Working with mmGridview, Adding a dropdownlist.

I'll try it later rght now I'm going to fill a bucket up with ice and do a head stand in it (isnt learning new skills grand).
