I will answer on your last question only - yes, as long as it's not a complex link you can just put it here and it would work.

Why you can not set your attribute for the assembly? Can you run csc command-line utility and somehow set it this way?

I'm reading the chapter on Reflection now at home, but I just started it, so I don't know all the details.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
