>first my disclaimer - it appears fine on my terminal but the client is complaining. client says that when the checkbox has focus the dotted box around the label is very faint. appears to be yellow in color (against a grey form). client wants it more "noticeable". on my monitor it is very noticeable, but i have a higher resolution. and yes i can see a slight yellow edge around the dark dotted box,

The first thing you need to keep in mind is that color choice should be up to the user and is set in Windows Control Panel. You can change the background color with the GotFocus/LosFocus methods, but what happens if the user picks a background color for the form that you've chosen for the background color of the checkbox?
