>>>I need a zip program to include with my software. I am use to using Winzip which was very easy to use for personal use, but never it used it in my programs. Has any body had experience Dynazip, or used any other zips in their programs? Is Dynazip easy to use? Was it reliable? I am using VFP 5.0a, and soon to be VFP 6 on Windows 98.

They included a VFP sample in the package so I went to that format - given the amount of problems I've had using ActiveX. Anyway - its easy to program, even comes with a BOOK which is quite good. I had some problems with their progress bar when I went to Windows 98 though. Their tech support worked with me and had to update one of the files. Works fine now. This is the same library that Quarterdeck ZipIt is using - which I also have. I've included dynazip files in my distribution diskettes to about 25 locations so far and I haven't heard about any failures.

James,

The file name is: dzactx.zip

I had to contact inner media tech support and had it emailed to me along with a password. I'd give it to you but I think due to the password - I can't. I just happened to change my DZ_EASY format to using the ActiveX today and found some more problems in Windows 98. I'm using their progress bar built into the ocx file (NOT PROG32.exe) and when I do a restore - when it is done - I get the results (pass or fail) according to the appendix. I then send the result code which I decipher, to a messagebox to inform the user of the results. Used to be it would Unzip then show the message. Now (windows 98) I have to click on the form first in order to get it to display the results. The Zipping routine does not require this. I had a similar problem with their DZ_EASY format when using Wipe vs Format. By the way the ActiveX is easier to use if you ask me, less coding.)
