Doctors say men who quit smoking do a much better job at not gaining weight because they tend to substitute exercise for smoking. For women, the tendency is either to not exercise or not exercise enough to make up for the metabolism drop when you quit smoking. They dont' have any recommendation for those women who quit smoking but who already exercised regularly...
