>>Although late to this party, I'm with you. No self-respecting libertarian could look at Obama's positions and then vote for him. His position is insanely pro-union, increased taxes, increased government...this guy literally is the anti-libertarian.

>Yeah, but what is the alternative?? You've got no alternative. Do you really think mcCain can get rid of the replican inheritance of misery they brough you the last 8 years? He will get your country in even more dept than it already is.

What misery? Americans by and large believe they're doing great. Granted, this country is far to nosy for it's own good and is being bombarded with a massive media campaign of despair, therefore as a group we've bought into the whole "hard-times" mantra. However, an interesting thing happens when we're asked about our individual lives and prospects. Suddenly we're doing great.

These numbers, while down since last year, are still very high considering the "misery" we've been going through.

Regardless of who is elected, this country is going to go further into debt. Both houses of Congress have been controlled by Democrats for the past year and a half and the deficit continues to rise. Bush is a Republican-in-name-only when it comes to fiscal policy. He doesn't seem to own a veto pen. Obama is promising new government spending everywhere he panders and single party rule never works out well for the citizenry. For all his faults at least McCain is a pork hawk.

You're correct about there not being an alternative. Economic conservatives, like myself, have no candidate. We get to hold our nose, cast our vote for the lessor of two evils and continue to wait for a real leader to emerge on the political scene. Hopefully we wont have slipped into an actual recession by then.
