>>Well, it appears that instead of the standard attack ads, McCain is attacking Obama's charisma and appeal:

>>The two McCain ads have both been shown in North Carolina (the latest just today). This is certainly the most entertaining presidential election we've had that I can recall! :o)

>Actually, pointing this out has brought
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cenk-uygur/why-doesnt-john-mccains-a_b_117811.html to my attention. So... if Edwards is bad for having an affair, why is McCain getting a free pass?
The affair itself is not. The issue is his speech and talk he gave about family values and how important one's word to one's spouse is. He used it as proof that he would be trustworthy when in office. He had to eat his own words.
John McCain was open about the mistakes he made during his first marriage.
Some of John Edward's quotes:
“I want to see our party lead on the great moral issues -- yes, me a Democrat using that word -- the great moral issues that face our country,” Edwards tells the crowd. “If we want to live in a moral, honest just America and if we want to live in a moral and just world, we can’t wait for somebody else to do it. We have to do it.”When Katie Couric asked him about whether voters should care if a presidential candidate is faithful to his spouse:
"Of course. I mean, for a lot of Americans -- including the family that I grew up with, I mean, it's fundamental to how you judge people and human character -- whether you keep your word, whether you keep what is your ultimate word, which is that you love your spouse, and you'll stay with them. ... I think the most important qualities in a president in today's world are trustworthiness -- sincerity, honesty, strength of leadership. And -- and certainly that goes to a part of that."
