I also never use formsets, but think forms inside of them should not disappear - by "click on a formset" do you mean inside the Form Designer window in the IDE or rather at runtime? If the former, does the disappeared one perhaps just hide behind something else and you'll get it back when you choose it from the Properties window dropdown?
