Because it ends with "...because they are defined as members in the parent class". IOW, members cannot be copied (or deleted) from an instance (when editing; for deletion also at runtime), but can be copied from the class where they are defined.
But if they are already members of a larger object (container perhaps) at the class level, then Mark should copy the whole object or just use the same class. If they can't be copied piecemeal, they can be copied all together or rebuilt on target.
