The benefit would be a human readable form... which is sort of nonsensical in a meaningless key. So I really wouldn't bother.

Though, these 16 bytes, if VFE is any guide, are actually hex representation, therefore 64 bits - or they may be some other representation... and so we arrive at anything between 16 and 128.
