I have been trying to get a clean way of determining if two lists of start and end (datetime fields) conflict. The problem is that the start/end pairs in one list could overlap with start/end pairs in the same list. I don't think that I should have to check EVERY combination.

The two lists are stored in the same table with two different indexes. Is it possible to have a SELECT in this case?
