Thanks for your input. I have tried many combinations of your code and none seem to the solve the problem in my grid. It seems like this should be the way to refresh the grid manually.

In researching this problem in the Microsoft Knowledgebase - I came across a Bug report for deleteing records from a grid - seems like this should be our problem - but manually calling the grid deleted event as recommended did not solve any problems for me. Article ID: Q191641 if your interested.
