More likely teachers will start committing suicide from the stress they deal with everyday.

I am surprised that the public in general is willing to trust a trained layman with a gun (police and school resource officers) but aren't willing to consider that a teacher with an education and a degree could be trained to use it in only appropriate situations... Both jobs are very stressful and we don't take the guns away from all policemen when one of them use poor judgment in using it.

I guess the other option is to have more school resource officers. One per hallway?
