The data manipulation is already done before the report is called. It's just a very complicated set of SPT queries and a Scan to create and fill a code field needed to drive the report. The real marvel is that the darned thing works at all I guess--and that's thanks to some great suggestions from UT folks! I just hope the client remembers how hard she pushed for these changes when she gets the bill <g>. Ironically, changing printers, especially to the PDF converter, slows the process down more than the data manipulation or the call to the UDF to count pages. Hopefully, the users will think the information the report provides is worth a short pause!
