My wife just heard something like this from someone at Diane Rehm's show:

"Atheists should lose their civil rights"

There wasn't much reaction to this, or maybe we didn't hear it because she just blew her top and came to inform me of the weather.

It is known that atheists rank lower than Muslims here (in "you wouldn't like your daughter to get married to a..."). Now if a voice like the one above can come up in the air and stay there pretty much unchallenged, on a syndicated programme which often runs as a mere playlist with nobody in the studio, so no accidental callers in a free-for-all, no triage, calling... then I better shut up before I type my next message from some sort of a camp.
