This is the first thing I am working on this morning but I still need to check the port somehow as it hangs indefinately (or appears that way). I am not expecting a return from the process as I have an event that will fire OnConnectionStateChange to let the application know if we connected; or when. But within that connection process that thread will still hang if the port isn't valid. I don't know why the try-catch isn't helping me out.
