I also tried it using base classes and it worked.

The problem, after a couple of wasted hours, turned out to be that the trainee programmer (me) who created the edit box base class defined it as a text box instead of an edit box.

Well, they DO look somewhat similar in the dark!

Apparently, thats the first time we've used that class in this app.

Being a far superior programmer now, I redefined it as an edit box and there was joy in the streets of Hamilton, NJ.
