First, as you correctly pointed, I expected a comedy. And not just any comedy but a Jewish-neurotic type for which Woody Allen became so famous. "Match Point" was not a comedy either but at least it had an interesting plot. VCB is very thin in terms of the plot. Take away Penelope, Javier, and Scarlett and it would be total flop. Ok, you can take away Javier, but leave Penelope and Scarlett, I will take them <g>. I loved, of course, breathtaking views of Barcelona. Interesting that on the official site of the movie, the menu has an item "Win a Barcelona Travel Package.". When I was watching the movies, somewhere in the middle, I even whispered to my wife that we are probably watching a movie promoted by Barcelona Travel Industry <g>.

>If you were expecting a comedy, I could see why. I thought it was quite good. Definitely the best movie he's made with his new muse Scarlett.

>Having Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem on board doesn't hurt, either.

>Time for me to throw away the geeky career, and live as an artist in Barcelona, with beautiful women ... sigh ...

I will carry your palette <g>
