Some of the most prestigious parts of the UK and Europe are entirely owned by Royalty or hereditary peers. For example, the Duke of Westminster owns 300 acres of the very best parts of London. It's perfectly normal- even desirable- for a significant person to be a tenant of the Duke of Westminster in London. Even the US embassy sits on his land!

I don't think those sorts of long-term locked-in dynasties are as common in New World nations, but current events mean that it may become a lot more common.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
