I'm a customer and I have my local mdf file which I access with the native drivers

Then, at the end of the month or so, I put the mdf file (or a backup - to sort out) in the mail to the accountant. My local database becomes read-only.

The accountant has his (sql) server and restores the backup from the mail to the server. The database is attached and accessed via the sql server service
He works a bit on it and may then decide to mail back a changed version of that database.

At any point in time, although there will be different 'copies' of a database, only one will be 'alive'

No customer has access to any computer of the accountant

thanks, Viv
Gregory
