I thought the whole thing did a good job of what I assume was the primary goal--showing that this family is just another American family, even though their skin is a different color. Pretty impressive for Michelle's parents, too--parents with no college education sending two kids to Princeton.

I agree. I watched it 3 or 4 times on different networks. The political chit-chat on the different networks was interesting. It was very well done. I'm surprised that her approval rating is not higher. It may be now after last night. I disagree with a few things she has done in the past (prior to the race), but I admire her and think she is the best potential First Lady.

There has only been one incident that I observed where she did the standard 'cover your tracks.' It was dissappointing, but not surprising. It is an election afterall and it was case of having mispoken or realizing afterwards that she didn't use the best words she could have and then trying to spin it. That is normal though and candidates and their spouses get passionate during their speeches along the trail... I would much rather see her as First Lady than any of the others.
