Seems to me that the build process takes longer with SP1 installed. The 'Build succeeded' message appears quite quickly but there's a delay after that before the cursor becomes responsive again. Also the entire 'Solution Explorer' pane somethimes repaints itself. But this happens on a solution that is using a remote web server for source control so that may be a factor ?
